Great Leaders Inspire

If you really unpack this, there are multiple lessons to be learned!

First, "Average leaders raise the bar on themselves;"... I have previously discussed the idea that leaders are, and ought to be, held to a higher standard.  They recognize this and act accordingly: they hold themselves accountable, they set higher standards for themselves and expect more of themselves than they of those on their teams.  They set lofty goals and are not satisfied until those goals are met; Second, "good leaders raise the bar for others;"... they breath their belief into others and work with them to do all of the above.  They mentor others, they bring them along with the vision and mission, they work hard to solicit buy-in from the members of the team. Finally, "great leaders inspire others to raise their own bar."  Essentially, great leaders create other leaders.  They inspire others to want to be a leader and to do the things that leaders do without the need for coaxing and cajoling.  These inspired leaders then take action and raise their own leadership bar.

The ultimate goal of any great leader is to develop other great leaders.
